Vasco have rejected a €31m, around R$200m, offer from Zenit for Rayan and have asked for €50m, about R$327m, instead. Zenit’s interest in the forward remains.
According to Globo.com, the Russian club had already bid for the 2025 standout earlier this year and remain among the most interested suitors. Vasco intend to sell only at a price they deem fair.
Rayan’s release clause stands at €80m, roughly R$500m. The half-billion-reais clause leaves the club feeling protected and willing to listen only to proposals that suit both their finances and the player. There is no longer concern about a club arriving and paying an amount up front.
Vasco’s share of Rayan’s economic rights in any future sale varies with the size of the deal, so there is no fixed percentage. Both parties were satisfied when the contract was renewed in early December.
The teenager has received a significant pay rise and is now among the squad’s highest earners, reflecting his status. The contract includes performance bonuses for targets such as a Brazil call-up, and the player is being observed by Carlo Ancelotti.
