Vasco da Gama have set a price of US$ 10 million, about R$ 55.3 million, to open talks with Palmeiras over right-back Paulo Henrique. According to PaponaColina, the figure is intended as a firm barrier to a domestic rival.
The demand follows recent, concrete interest from Palmeiras. It also aligns with a club policy of not making life easy for Brazilian competitors.
Paulo Henrique enjoyed the best year of his career in 2025, playing 58 matches, scoring four goals and providing eight assists. That consistency earned him a first call-up to the Brazil squad.
Under Fernando Diniz, he has moved from prospect to mainstay, key in the build-up and in supporting attacks down the right.
Vasco have been willing to move on players short of minutes, as seen with Riquelme’s sale to Panserraikos in Greece. The approach to Paulo Henrique is different, the club consider him close to untouchable.
The message is clear, only a Europe-level fee will be considered for a title rival. Otherwise, he stays at São Januário and is set to be a leading figure in 2026.
