Vasco have made a renewed move to sign Independiente del Valle striker Spinelli, lodging a second proposal and maintaining optimism over a deal.
According to Globo.com, the Ecuadorian club want only a permanent sale, while Vasco insist on a loan. The new bid alters the initial terms, adding an obligation to buy after the loan if performance targets are met.
The 29-year-old Argentine is interested in a move to Brazil, which underpins Vasco’s upbeat stance. He is viewed as a market opportunity, considered affordable in salary and, potentially, in a permanent transfer.
Centre-forward remains a priority for Vasco. The team have lost Rayan and Vegetti in that area. Brenner has been signed as first choice, but GB currently covers the bench and the club want a striker in Vegetti’s mould, combative, penalty-box focused and strong in the air.
Spinelli stands 1.80m and is noted for his leap. His best season came last year at Del Valle, with 28 goals in 50 games. He scored four in six in the Libertadores and four in eight in the Sudamericana, two of them against Vasco.
