Vasco ‘to exchange documents’ with River Plate and Racing for Facundo Colidio and Santiago Sosa | OneFootball

Vasco have advanced talks for Facundo Colidio and Santiago Sosa, reaching the exchange of draft contracts and documents with River Plate and Racing, according to ESPN. Both are priority targets for the second half of 2026.

Sporting director Admar Lopes led negotiations and was in Buenos Aires last week to align purchase terms. The club are working within Argentina’s window, which keeps registration open until 2 September for teams selling abroad.

The plan is to complete checks, then schedule medicals for the pair in the coming hours.

Colidio, 26, came through Boca Juniors, joined Inter Milan, and was loaned to Sint-Truiden and Tigre, where he logged five goals and eight assists in the 2022 Copa de la Liga. He joined River in 2023, won the Supercopa Argentina and Trofeo de Campeones, has 18 goals, and plays wide or as a false nine.

Vasco have offered US$ five million (R$25.5 million) for 50% of his rights, with a further US$ five million for the remainder if pre-set targets are met.

Sosa, 27, is a River academy product who was in the 2018 Libertadores and 2019 Recopa-winning squads. He moved to Atlanta United in 2021, played 70 games, then to Racing, winning the 2024 Sudamericana and 2025 Recopa, establishing himself in a defensive midfield role and also covering at centre-back.
