Velo fans invade training before Santos match and threaten Neymar | OneFootball

Velo Clube supporters stormed a first-team session on Wednesday, four days before facing Santos, with footage circulating online showing one fan issuing a threat against Neymar.

The club said in a statement that it did not condone the invasion, which halted preparations for the final round of the Paulistão A1, and that authorities are investigating. It warned that recent incidents, including explosives thrown on to the pitch in the last round, risk sanctions such as loss of home advantage.

In the clip, the fan demands maximum effort and suggests taking Neymar out of the competition if that is what it takes to win.

Velo are in the relegation zone on 4 points and a win at Vila Belmiro could yet spare them demotion to Série A-2. Noroeste and Primavera have 7 points and meet each other in a direct clash.

Kick-off is on Sunday 15 at 20:30 local time. For Santos, victory could secure a place in the quarter-finals and the game may also mark the return of number 10 Neymar.
