Paul Robinson has praised Arsenal for their strong performance in Spain as they secured a 2-0 win over Athletic Club in the Champions League this evening. The result reinforces Arsenal’s status as one of the competition’s favourites and highlights the importance of consistent away form in progressing to the later stages of the tournament.
Athletic Club posed a significant challenge, particularly in the first half, when they managed to frustrate Arsenal and prevent them from creating clear chances. The Gunners had to show patience and resilience as the Spanish side worked hard to restrict their attacking flow. Despite the difficulties, Arsenal remained composed and eventually demonstrated their superiority as the game wore on.
Robinson expressed his admiration for Arsenal’s performance and highlighted the importance of their response in the latter stages of the match. Speaking on the BBC, he said, “Arsenal have done really well in the latter part of this second half. It has been a very good away performance and a very good start to the Champions League.” His remarks reflected the efficiency and determination Arsenal displayed to secure the three points.

The Gunners’ ability to adapt to stubborn opposition was evident, and their willingness to dig deep underlined the team’s growth and maturity. Matches such as this one provide a reminder that Champions League campaigns are rarely straightforward, and Arsenal will need to be ready for a variety of challenges as the competition continues.
With further fixtures to come, including encounters that are likely to be even more demanding, Arsenal’s squad depth and tactical flexibility will be crucial. The potential return of key regulars from injury in the coming matches could provide an additional boost, making it easier to secure results while maintaining consistency across competitions.
