FC Volendam have announced that veteran striker Henk Veerman will be with the club next season. Volendam have decided to take up the option in the 35-year-old’s contract to keep him around for the 2026/2027 season, with the side hoping that will be another year in the Eredivisie. Veerman has been with Volendam since joining from Utrecht in 2022, although he spent the 2023/2024 season on loan at recently promoted ADO Den Haag.
After scoring just four goals in 30 games during his first season with Volendam, Veerman turned it on last season back in the second tier. Clearly, the striker loves playing in that division, having scored 26 goals for ADO Den Haag in 2023/2024. His 26 goals in 37 games, with 10 assists, helped Volendam win promotion back to the Eredivisie at the first time of asking. So far this season he has played 20 games for the side, starting 18 in the Eredivisie. Veerman has provided the side with five goals and one assist this season.
Prior to joining Utrecht back in the 2021/2022 season, Veerman had played for the likes of SC Heerenveen and St Pauli. His career began at Volendam in 2012, and in that first spell with the club the striker scored 25 goals in 50 games.
