Celtic outcast Luis Palma scored a stunning goal for Honduras last night which sealed their place into the knockout phases of the Gold Cup. The winger who spent the second half of last season with Greek side Olympiacos is expected to return to Celtic Park this summer as the club look to find a suitable destination for the attacker.
Palma has done his value no harm with a big goal for the National Team against Curacao. The 91st minute strike sparked scenes of jubilation amongst the Honduras players and support.
Luis Palma left Celtic during the January window in a loan deal with the Greek side holding an option to buy on the player. Celtic sanctioned the move after agreeing to sign Jota on a permanent basis. The Greek side decided against taking up the option to buy the player. However, Celtic will look to try maximise the value in the player this summer and recouping the £4.5m outlay from 2023.
