Paris Saint-Germain faced a difficult challenge on Tuesday night. After defeating Liverpool FC at the Parc des Princes last week, they traveled to Anfield with a place in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League on the line.

In the first half, PSG battled, and Ousmane Dembélé had a couple of scoring opportunities that he failed to convert. In the second half, he more than made up for those misses.

As Liverpool overwhelmed PSG in the second half, Dembélé was able to silence the Anfield faithful in the 72nd minute. He received a pass from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and after a slight turn to fake out the defender, the Frenchman placed his shot perfectly into the back of the net.

The goal put PSG up 3-0 on aggregate, but the reigning Ballon d’Or winner wasn’t through yet. In stoppage time, Dembélé left no doubt. Kvaratskhelia played a pass to Bradley Barcola in the middle of the pitch and with Liverpool out of position, the Frenchman played a simple pass to Dembélé for his second goal on the night.

The match finished 2-0, and PSG advanced 4-0 on aggregate. It’s the second consecutive year that PSG has knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League at Anfield. Up next for PSG in the competition is either Real Madrid or FC Bayern Munich.
