Chelsea have been pretty poor in this first half against Arsenal at the Emirates, but they’ve managed to level the scores late on.
The Blues had conceded to a rather pathetically defended set piece against the Gunners, but struck back with one of their own just before the break. Reece James whipped in an inswinger which Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie met at the near post in the middle of a bundle of bodies. His glancing header changed the angle and the ball flew in.
It looked to us like the bend on the ball was taking it in, so it should go down at James’ goal, but it was Hincapie’s touch which took it away from goalkeeper David Raya.

Chelsea certainly didn’t deserve a goal on the quality of their attacking play, but given the preceding corner had hit Declan Rice’s elbow, it feels like a fair outcome.
Liam Rosenior has now been given lifeline to go in at half time and try to turn things around. He needs more urgency and commitment in attack from his players, and of course some more quality.
Liam Rosenior was being teased before the game by the fourth official about his complaints in the EFL Cup game last month.
Mamadou Sarr was picked to start the game against Arsenal, a huge vote of confidence in the young defender.
Todd Boehly has been speaking at yet another business conference, and as you can imagine he’s put his foot in his mouth once again.
