Villarreal said in a statement that they have agreed the transfer of Alex Freeman from Orlando City, with a contract running until June 2032. The move is the club’s third signing.
He joins Alfon and Thiago Fernández, who is on loan at Oviedo.

Alexander Michael Freeman, born in Baltimore on 9 August 2004, is a United States defender who primarily plays at right-back. He is noted for his physical power and attacking thrust, and can operate higher up the right.
At 21, he has already made more than 40 appearances for Orlando City in MLS and has 13 caps for the United States. He scored twice in a friendly against Uruguay.
In late 2025, Freeman was named MLS Young Player of the Year.
