Villarreal are one win from a derby clean sweep in the Comunitat Valenciana after a 2-1 victory over Elche.

AS points out they have five wins from five this season and could become the first Valencian club to beat all three local rivals in every game.

Marcelino’s side have beaten Valencia 0-2 away and 2-1 in Vila-real, Elche 1-3 at the Martínez Valero and 2-1 at La Cerámica, and Levante away 0-1.

Only matchday 34 at La Cerámica against Levante remains. Win that and Villarreal will have defeated every community rival this season. They already hold 15 derby points, almost a quarter of their haul after 27 rounds.

Valencia, Elche and Levante are all fighting to stay up, while Villarreal are pushing for the Champions League. For now, the Rey de la Comunitat Valenciana tag fits, their superiority showing in every derby to date.
