Vinícius will miss Mestalla after collecting his fifth yellow card, a fresh setback for Real Madrid before Valencia on Sunday eight. Jude Bellingham is already out, and the meeting is key for both sides.
According to Superdeporte, Madrid have been labouring through this second half of LaLiga, with sections of the crowd booing players. Xabi Alonso’s departure amid a poor dressing-room mood still lingers, and under Arbeloa they are outside the Champions League top eight while Barcelona continue to lead LaLiga.
Valencia versus Real Madrid remains one of the great fixtures, even in the Lim era. Several players will not be available for the occasion. Beyond Corberán’s absences and Madrid’s existing injuries, the Rayo Vallecano match added confirmed losses.
Bellingham was the first to drop out of the next match after pulling up during an attacking run, with signs pointing to a hamstring issue. It remains to be seen whether others follow.
Vinícius has become public enemy number one at Mestalla in recent times, his behaviour seen as poor, aggressive and provocative. He was booked along with Ilias after a clash as the Moroccan international left the pitch to be replaced by Martín, taking his time to run down the clock.
