Virgil van Dijk brushed off suggestions of a summer transfer to Real Madrid but admitted he has "nothing to say" when it came to a possible extension with Liverpool.
The Dutch defender, who turned 33 in July, is approaching the final six months of his current contract at Anfield, but an uncertain future does not appear to be weighing on his mind as Van Dijk continues to impress on the pitch, including in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Real Madrid.
After the game, Edu Aguirre of El Chiringuito held nothing back in his interview with Van Dijk, bluntly asking the centre-back if he will stay with Liverpool beyond the summer.
"What a direct question from you!" Van Dijk laughed. "They don't ask me that direct, but listen, at the moment there's nothing I can say. The only thing I can say is I'm fully focused on Man City from now on."

The interview then turned to a possible summer move to Madrid for Van Dijk, who was reminded that both Eder Militao and David Alaba are battling injuries.
"Antonio Rudiger is there, no?" he replied.
Again asked directly about the chances of joining Madrid when his Liverpool contract expires, Van Dijk concluded: "When? In the summer? Like I said to you before, the main focus for me is Man City."
Liverpool face Manchester City on Sunday in what has been one of the biggest fixtures in recent seasons. Arne Slot's side already boast an eight-point advantage at the top of the standings and Pep Guardiola has already conceded that the title race will be over if Liverpool pick up three points.
