Vizela angered by 28th-round date for Benfica B match | OneFootball

Vizela have criticised the 18:00 Tuesday, seven April kick-off for their 28th-round Segunda Liga match against Benfica B, the club said in a statement. They argue it disadvantages supporters and raises competitive fairness concerns.

The club said they had agreed with Benfica for the game to be played on Monday, six April 2026, and that this was relayed to the league and reiterated in a recent scheduling meeting.

Even so, the league kept the original date, citing calendar limitations. Vizela contend this runs against the understanding between the clubs and a previously assumed commitment by the league.

They also argue that a Monday slot would allow greater attendance. Having already played several weekday fixtures, the club describe this as a clear detriment to supporter backing.

They also highlight competitive balance concerns, noting that Feirense, their next-round opponents, would have more than three days extra preparation, a total of 79 hours. Vizela conclude that this situation plainly undermines the principles of balance and competitive equity.
