Vojvoda wants the maximum from Neymar and Gabigol for Santos | OneFootball

Santos head coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda has challenged Neymar and Gabigol to drive the club in 2026, insisting he expects their full output.

According to Globo.com, the Argentine said the pair know the club and each other, and he does not want responsibilities split, he wants both to deliver together for Santos. He highlighted Neymar’s commitment last year during difficult periods when he was short of full fitness.

On Saturday, in the Paulistão opener, Gabigol scored in a come-from-behind victory over Novorizontino and was named man of the match.

Neymar will return during the Paulistão group stage, with no date yet set, as he continues his recovery from knee surgery.

For this season, alongside Gabigol, Santos have signed midfielder Gabriel Menino. The board also finalised the purchases of defender Zé Ivaldo and forward Álvaro Barreal, both in the squad in the second half of last year.

Vojvoda added that he will demand the two combine for the good of Santos because they can, and it is on his staff to find ways to maximise their output. He stressed the team’s success does not rest solely on the pair.
