Volkswagen pokes fun at OM’s new logo on Instagram

Volkswagen has joined the banter over OM’s new logo, teasing its resemblance to the carmaker’s emblem after some Marseille fans flagged it following this week’s unveiling.
On Thursday, the company said in a post that it had been first with that look, sharing an inverted version of its VW mark so it resembled Marseille’s M.
The caption, aimed at Marseille supporters, added that flips are usually done on the pitch.
The episode also served as handy publicity for the German manufacturer.
The redesign draws on several eras of the club’s visual identity, combining a white ring inspired by 1973, the M structure from 1899, the curves and line dynamics from 1986, and the double ring from 1993.
