Walid Regragui has left his role as Morocco head coach a little over three months before the 2026 World Cup.
According to Le Progres, the decision was revealed on Thursday evening.
Speaking at a ceremony carried live on television, he spoke of loyalty and gratitude and said he was certain he had served his country.
He is replaced by Mohamed Ouahbi, who was appointed Morocco under-23 coach in December last year.
Regragui’s departure follows weeks of persistent speculation about his future.
