Walter Sabatini: “Lazio have difference-makers, Roma do not.” | OneFootball

Former Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini sounded critical of the Giallorossi’s transfer business this summer.

In an interview with Il Messaggero, Sabatini shared his opinion on Roma’s Florent Ghisolfi and the team’s outlook for this season.

“Ghisolfi is at best an okay young executive,” Sabatini said when asked about the Giallorossi’s new sporting director.

“You have to give foreigners a few months to settle in, even if I have the impression that Roma still haven’t understood where they are, just as the Friedkins haven’t understood as they’ve never spoken to the fans. It’s an act of unbearable arrogance.”

“The Friedkins have not understood that Roma without its people is nothing. The affection and adrenaline that this city and this environment generates have totally rejected them.”

“Totti? I hope they offer him an operational role in the club. He will need some time to learn, but let’s not underestimate him because he has his own tricks. Of course, he should put in the effort, wake up early in the morning and not sleep at night. But he would deserve it by right for the joy he has given to millions of people.”
