A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona made a surprise appearance at the club’s latest training session on Saturday.

Barca are of course currently in the midst of final preparations for a highly-anticipated fixture on Sunday night.

After putting Athletic Club to the sword in the semi-finals of the competition on Wednesday, the Blaugrana have been pencilled in for a Spanish Super showpiece meeting with arch rivals Real Madrid.

And, as alluded to above, after seeing out their final training session ahead of the clash earlier today, Hansi Flick’s squad were surprised by an altogether welcome guest.

The individual in question? Franck Kessié.

Ivorian international Kessié of course spent a solitary season on the books of Barcelona, back in 2022/23.

And, during this time, the 28-year-old went on to establish himself as something of a fan favourite.

Such supporters will in turn no doubt be delighted to learn that Kessié was in attendance to wish good luck to some of his former Blaugrana teammates on the eve of the Supercopa final:
