Up-and-coming young talent led the way on Friday, as La Liga giants Barcelona secured victory in the club’s first pre-season fixture of the summer.

Amid ongoing preparations for the campaign ahead, Barca stepped things up yesterday evening, facing off with minnows CE Europa in a friendly clash.

With the bulk of Hansi Flick’s first-team stars still on vacation following their exploits at the World Cup, the Blaugrana’s headmaster afforded the chance to impress to a whole host of youngsters.

And several such starlets went on to take full advantage of this opportunity.

En route to a 4-1 Barca triumph, the likes of Brian Fariñas, Guille Fernández and Hamza Abdelkarim turned heads with the level of their respective performances.

On the scoresheet, meanwhile, were the quartet of Ibrahim Diarra, Héctor Fort, Ebrima Tunkara and Alex González.
