Ollie Watkins appears to be on the outside looking in when it comes to Thomas Tuchel's England ahead of the 2026 World Cup this summer.

But ask Villa fans, and he's the man for the job in the Midlands after the veteran striker bagged their second in the clash with relegation-threatened West Ham.

Watkins doubled the Villains' advantage in the 68th minute after John McGinn's opener in the first half, putting the Torquay-born forward on nine Premier League goals this season.

And with that, Watkins now adds his name to some illustrious company, becoming just the fifth player in the last six seasons to hit 10 or more direct goal contributions in the league, alongside Mo Salah, Bruno Fernandes, Leandro Trossard, and compatriot Jarrod Bowen.

Will Tuchel ultimately be forced to have a rethink before the Three Lions jet set across the Atlantic this summer?
