Bayer Leverkusen reached the Champions League last 16 with a 0-0 draw, and players said the primary target had been met.
As reported by BuLi News, Janis Blaswich reflected on the second leg, saying the tie demanded a lot across both games and that the outcome was what mattered, even if the performance did not always look great.
Teammate Jarell Quansah said they were delighted to make the last 16 and that it did not take more effort than they had expected.
He praised Olympiacos for their strength and said they knew they would have to compete for everything again, which proved to be the case.
The squad now look ahead to a heavyweight in the next round, with either Bayern or Arsenal to come, teams they described as among Europe’s best.
