Arsenal will head to the Parc des Princes with a one-goal deficit to overturn after Paris Saint-Germain won the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night. However, Mikel Merino remains bullish regarding the Gunners’ chances of reaching the final.
Ousmane Dembélé’s strike in the fourth minute is the difference between the two sides. However, Merino believes that Arsenal can lean on their experience of beating Real Madrid at the Bernabeu as they look to once again win away in the Champions League. “Those experiences (such as the one in the Bernabeu) are massive for us, to prove to ourselves that we can win anywhere, against any side in the Premier League as well,” began the Spaniard in a mixed zone interview attended by Get French Football News.
The Arsenal midfielder added, “We know that Paris is a tough place to go, but still we have always proven that we can compete against anybody. I think we are going to win the second leg.”
