The Sky Blues now find themselves in the driving seat in the race for sixth place, following an excellent 2-0 win over play-off rivals West Brom on Good Friday.

Frank Lampard's men make the trip down to Devon on Easter Monday to face a Plymouth Argyle side that could be relegated on the day if results don't go in their favour, and they fail to win.

With that in mind, Coventry will rightfully be expecting an extremely tough afternoon on the south coast, as Miron Muslic's side will be seeking some gratification after they were left feeling hard done by with a late loss at Middlesbrough on Good Friday.

Ahead of the match, the man who wore the captain's armband in the last game, Sheaf, spoke to the Coventry Observer - he insisted that the Sky Blues have their destiny in their own hands, whilst encouraging his teammates to stay grounded.

With a massive three games right around the corner, the 27-year-old spoke to the Coventry Observer, sending a clear message to anyone feeling the nerves.

“We are trying to keep our feet on the ground, everyone around us won," the midfielder said.

“We cannot get carried away, we have got a job to do, but we are in a strong position, and we have to see that as a good thing.

“We have got control, and we have three massive games left.

“We know what we can do, and we know what we need to do. Hopefully we can do it."

It seems like a long time ago that the Midlands club were struggling towards the bottom of the Championship, which saw them replace legendary manager Mark Robins with ex-Chelsea boss Lampard.

Sheaf lauded his manager's contribution to Coventry's excellent turnaround in the second half of the season, adding: “The start was not good, but we knew the quality of the dressing room at the start of the season.

“We knew what we are capable of, but since the gaffer has come in, the turnaround has been unbelievable.

“We have put on a good run, we have been playing really well of late, so the signs are there, we just need to keep doing it.”

Since his appointment, the Sky Blues have soared towards the top half of the table, which is exactly where they'd expect to be based on previous years.

Now, as Sheaf mentioned, Lampard's side are in an excellent position to right the wrongs of their last play-off campaign, which ended in a crushing defeat on penalties at Wembley Stadium.

The message to keep their feet on the ground and keep doing what they've done so well in recent weeks is a simple, yet integral piece of advice that the midfielder will hope his teammates take on board.
