Ruben Dias has urged City to dust themselves down and get back to work on the training pitch following the 2-0 Premier League loss against Tottenham Hotspur.

Our first home fixture of the new campaign ended in disappointment after first-half strikes from Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha secured the three points for the visitors.

Our best chances came through Omar Marmoush, who was denied smartly by goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario twice in the opening half hour.

The defeat means we now have one win and one defeat after two matches in the league this season and Dias, who is amongst the captaincy group, has called for the team to continue working on the training pitch to bounce back from the setback.

"Spurs are a team who can be very dangerous, they started the game very well," he said after the game.

"We didn't react the best way in sticking to our game. The second goal is unfortunate, it cannot happen. We chased but there was a lot of things to do better.

"Not everything was good in our first game and not everything is bad now so we have to get back to work.

"It's frustrating, we want to win even more at home in front of our fans in our first home game. It is what it is, it's football and we look forward."

The Portuguese defender extended his City stay on Friday with a new four-year deal keeping him at the Club until the summer of 2029.

The defender believes that his commitment to the Club shows the ambition from everyone involved to win more trophies.

"It says about our ambition, it says that we want to stay here and win trophies," he declared.

"And that's the mentality of the Club, nothing has changed."
