The Czech forward scored his first goal for the club, nodding home an excellent delivery from Kieran Tierney as Celtic secured a 2-0 victory against Falkirk.
The strike ended a lengthy drought for Cvancara, with his previous goal coming back in October during an unsuccessful loan stint at Antalyaspor.
Since his high-profile transfer to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2023, Cvancara has struggled to find consistency in front of goal. However, the striker believes a fresh start in Scotland offers the perfect platform to rediscover his form and play a key role in Celtic’s push for the title under Martin O’Neill.

He said via the Celtic FC YouTube channel: “Yeah, I’m very happy. I think for Celtic, the most important thing is to keep winning and we just go for it and I’m happy just for that. It was a perfect cross, I think that I also timed it very well and it was a nice goal.
“I feel good. It’s just a different type of league. It’s a lot of duels, so I think that I have adapted quite well. I just have to keep going, and hopefully I will get more and more minutes and just help the team. Will it be the first of many in green and white? Hopefully.”

The 25-year-old enjoyed a highly productive spell at Sparta Prague, where he racked up 24 goals over two campaigns, but his scoring touch waned after his move to the Bundesliga.
Now in Scotland, Cvancara says he is not focused on individual milestones, insisting his sole ambition is to lift the league trophy with Celtic at the end of the season.
Cvancara continued: “No. I think that also we as a team, but also myself, we’re just going step by step and this is the most important. Today we take three important points, and we just keep going. I hope that if I keep scoring the goals and we will keep winning, that we will keep hunting them for the title.”

“Everybody has to prove themselves to play for Celtic. So, me also. I’m here just one week and I already played two games, so it was quite tough, but I think that this start can just help me and I’m happy for that.”
“I already said when I arrived that the boys were very well, that they were so nice to me and I’m just happy that I can pay it back with assists and goals or whatever. That we just keep winning – this is the most important.”
