Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeneß has shown his full support towards FC St. Pauli U-19 coach Christian Dobrick who publicly came out as gay last week.

“I don't see any problem with it at all. And I don't understand why it's even being discussed," Hoeneß said, in a recent interview with BILD.

"If that [a member coming out as gay] happened at Bayern Munich, the person wouldn't face any problems whatsoever, but rather support.

“If he were attacked [for being gay] in the media or online, we would all defend him, as always,” Hoeneß explained in detail.

Dobrick, 28, revealed that hiding his sexuality from the football world which often struggles with LGBTQ+ inclusivity was a difficult task.

"This charade has drained me too much. At my previously clubs in the youth academies, I kept my homosexuality a secret from the players.

“This went on for years. It was incredibly stressful. Now it’s over,” the 29-year-old recently told various media outlets.
