FC Bayern’s injury worries continue and now the record champions‘ next player is out
The series of injuries at FC Bayern continues, with Sky reportingthat youngster Bara Sapoko Ndiaye suffered a capsule injury in training last Friday
The 18-year-old midfielder will therefore be out for several weeks, with the club’s officials expecting a break of three to four weeks according to the report. This is a major setback for the young player, as he was just trying to settle in at the record champions following his transfer in the winter
Ndiaye only moved to Munich in January on loan from Gambinos Stars Africa in The Gambia
What is particularly remarkable is that the initiative for the deal came directly from Vincent Kompany. The Bayern coach had already watched Ndiaye in a test match against Grasshopper Zurich in the summer of 2025 and was apparently so convinced that he actively pushed for the transfer internally
The 18-year-old is regarded as a highly talented player with exceptional physical attributes, and his pace, robustness and ball security in particular are said to have impressed those in charge
This makes the current injury all the more bitter: Ndiaye has now been slowed down in an important phase of his development and cannot recommend himself for higher tasks for the time being
Those responsible at FC Bayern are pursuing a clear plan with Ndiaye: unlike with many loan players, he is to be developed in a targeted manner and introduced to the pros with a view to the future
According to Sky, the plan was to give the youngster his first professional playing minutes as early as the second half of the season. Coach Kompany wanted to see for himself how quickly Ndiaye could adapt to the level and processes at the record champions
This strategy fits in with Munich’s current focus on young, developing players, with examples such as Lennart Karl and Tom Bischof showing that the leap from talent to professional has recently become much quicker at FC Bayern
Ndiaye’s injury is part of an already tense personnel situation. In addition to several absences in the professional squad, talents have also been increasingly affected recently

FC Bayern recently had to cope with the long-term absence of attacking player Wisdom Mike, who will miss several months, and players such as Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito are also currently unavailable
For Ndiaye, the hope now remains that he will quickly put the break behind him and then be able to attack again. One thing is clear: FC Bayern still has high hopes for the talent – even if the next step in his development will have to wait for the time being.
