‘We’ll do beautiful things with Maldini’ says Fenerbahce prospective chief | OneFootball

Prospective Fenerbahce President Hakan Safi has confirmed reports he met with Paolo Maldini to discuss a new role. ‘We will do beautiful things together.’

With the election for the President of the Turkish club coming up, candidates are trying to give fans reasons to back them as the new leader after missing out on the title to rivals Galatasaray.

Hakan Safi was spotted on Italian soil over the last few weeks, where he had a meeting at Casa Milan with Rossoneri directors.

It was also reported that he had dinner with former Milan director Maldini, and it is something that he finally confirmed in a podcast interview on his private jet.

Fenerbahce candidate had Maldini talks

“We sat down with Maldini and talked,” confirmed Safi.

“He will be our football brain in the world, our football ambassador. We will do beautiful things together. In the transfers I will make in future, we will benefit from the presence of Maldini.”

The former Milan and Italy player has always said he does not see himself working with any club other than the Diavolo, where he spent his entire career.

However, if it was a side outside of Serie A, then he might be more amenable.

After all, he has been a part owner of Miami FC since 2015, before he became technical director with the Rossoneri from 2019 to 2023.
