Wesley Fofana posted racist abuse he received after Chelsea’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Burnley at Stamford Bridge, having been sent off in the second half.
He was dismissed on 72 minutes for a second yellow after a body check on James Ward-Prowse, with Chelsea leading 1-0. According to L'Équipe, he later shared Instagram screenshots of the messages.
One user called him a stupid monkey and said he should be put in a zoo after the red card.
The 25-year-old, a France international capped once, highlighted five accounts and criticised the authorities, saying that in 2026 nothing has changed, offenders are not punished and campaigns bring no action.
Hannibal Mejbri, who started for the visitors, was also subjected to racist insults and published them on his social channels. Burnley issued a statement on Saturday evening in support.
