Wesley on Gasperini: “He’s incredible, I hope to grow with him.” | OneFootball

Roma full-back Wesley discussed Gian Piero Gasperini’s impact on him and his decision to move to the Giallorossi in the summer.

In an interview with TNT Sports Brasil, Wesley said of the Italian coach, “When I arrived at Roma, I found an incredible coach. What he’s doing with me, the way he’s training me… I really hope to grow a lot.”

“It will take time, obviously. It doesn’t happen overnight, I won’t suddenly become Dani Alves, it’s impossible. But I know it will take time, and I feel that when a coach wants a player so much, that matters a lot. Because he called me, he spoke to me. There were other offers, of course. But a coach who calls you, who already wanted you last year, then goes to another team and wants you again… that had a huge impact on me.”

“And I hope that with him I can only grow, as happened with all the players who were with him at Atalanta.”
