Ex-Santos forward Weslley Patati marked his 100th professional appearance as AZ Alkmaar beat Ajax 6-0 in the Dutch Cup at the AFAS Stadion in Alkmaar on Wednesday.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the result took AZ into the next round and was their biggest victory over Ajax, who were eliminated.
A Santos academy graduate, Patati debuted in 2022 and made 33 appearances before joining Maccabi Tel Aviv in September 2024. In Israel he quickly impressed, helping win the league and cup, with 15 goals and nine assists in 45 games.
In August 2025, after taking Maccabi’s number 10 shirt, he moved to AZ as a key signing for the season. He has since played 22 times, scoring two and assisting two.
He called the milestone special, saying it stems from a childhood dream and that he is proud of the clubs he has represented. He aims to keep improving, win trophies and bring joy to AZ supporters, adding that life in the Netherlands and European football feels incredible.
AZ remain involved in the Eredivisie, the domestic cup and the UEFA Conference League this season.
