West Bromwich Albion are pushing to complete two early attacking signings, with Falkirk striker Barney Stewart targeted and Chelsea forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan in their sights.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Albion are hopeful of landing Stewart, while the 20-year-old Morgan is on the brink of joining for about £1.3 million.
Stewart, 22, delivered a standout first full season in senior football, scoring 18 goals in 33 matches. He began the campaign on loan at Dunfermline before Falkirk recalled him in January.
The London-born forward had been on QPR’s books before moving to Scotland for university. He joined Falkirk in October 2024 after impressing as an amateur with Heriot-Watt University.
Talk of a move surfaced last month and a return to England and the Championship is being discussed, with Albion understood to be frontrunners. Stewart has said the attention feels unreal and that, if it happens, it would be a major and rapid step he would need to take in his stride, while stressing it remains speculation.
Albion are also close to signing teenage defender Carter Pinnington from Liverpool as part of a proactive approach to their summer business.
Previous windows were constrained by the need to drastically reduce losses to comply with profit and sustainability rules, but the club now have greater room to manoeuvre.
