Talks over Chelsea forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan are at an advanced stage, and Albion are on the verge of signing teenage prospect Carter Pinnington from Liverpool. The club want early progress in the first window since Bilkul Group’s 2024 takeover, where the primary focus is not on reducing losses.

Albion have discussed a new contract with Karlan Grant, while striker Josh Maja has been offered fresh terms. Head coach James Morrison is expected to finalise his staff, with negotiations under way with Celtic over Gavin Strachan’s arrival at The Hawthorns.

Stewart’s move caps a rapid rise for a player who only made his professional debut last year. The London-born forward was spotted by Falkirk while playing as an amateur for Heriot Watt University after moving to Scotland to study sports science.

He scored 19 goals in his first full professional season, including 10 in the Scottish Premiership after a recall from a loan at Dunfermline, attracting interest from several English clubs. Albion have secured his signature.

The fee is a club-record sale for Falkirk, with the Scottish club stating there is scope for significant add-ons. Stewart told WBA TV he is excited by the Championship challenge and confident he can score goals for Albion.
