West Ham sporting director Tim Steidten will reportedly step away from the club's training ground this month as his relationship with coach Julen Lopetegui continues to deteriorate.

Steidten only joined the Hammers last summer and was a key decision maker as they spent  £127.5m on players such as Niclas Füllkrug, Crysencio Summerville and Jean-Clair Todibo.

But having claimed just six wins all term, things are said to have soured between Steidten, Lopetegui and the board with the director having reportedly held talks with Graham Potter over replacing the Spanish tactician.

Ultimately West Ham opted to give Lopetegui a stay of execution, but now a report in the Telegraph has revealed that Steidten will give their Rush Green training base a wide berth for the foreseeable.

This isn't the first time Steidten has had his issues with a West Ham boss with David Moyes asking the German to stay away from the dressing room during the end of his tenure in 2023/24.

Asked about that decision at the time, Moyes said: “I’ve said before that Tim has his job to do but managers have their boundaries and I have my boundaries.”

West Ham are thought to be in the market for a forward this month with Steidten believed to be considering Brighton's Evan Ferguson.
