West Ham reject Flamengo bid for Lucas Paquetá | OneFootball

West Ham have rejected Flamengo's formal offer for Lucas Paquetá. The proposal was lodged on Thursday.

According to talkSPORT, the English club want at least 45 million euros, around R$ 283 million.

Flamengo offered 40 million euros, with 35 million guaranteed and five million in bonuses, roughly R$ 219 million and R$ 31 million. Those terms did not satisfy West Ham.

Another sticking point is timing, with Flamengo seeking to sign Paquetá in this window and West Ham willing to release only in May, at the end of the European season.

Before submitting the bid, the clubs held talks to align positions, but no official offer had been made previously.

Flamengo have already agreed contract terms with Paquetá, including a four-year deal, and are counting on the player's wish to return to Brazil.

Paquetá has informed West Ham head coach Nuno Espírito Santo of his desire to leave. He is currently away from training due to back pain.
