West Ham United were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Tuesday.
The Hammers came out flying from the blocks, forcing Senne Lammens to make a superb save to deny Crysencio Summerville in the 13th minute.
United’s first genuine opportunity came from a corner which Harry Maguire headed wide.
Luke Shaw came close to putting United ahead with a first-time shot before the half-hour mark, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka cleared the ball off the line.
Tomas Soucek broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, guiding Jarrod Bowen’s low cross into the far corner to register his third goal against United.
Casemiro thought he had equalised after heading Kobbie Mainoo’s cross into the net, but his effort was ruled offside.
Benjamin Sesko rescued a point for United with a clever finish in stoppage time to maintain interim manager Michael Carrick’s unbeaten run.
United have now climbed back to fourth in the standings after Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw earlier on. West Ham are two points adrift of safety.
Man United are not back in action until February 23 when they face Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, while the Hammers host Bournemouth next.
