West Ham United are currently in pole position to sign Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika, according to Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The Hammers are the most concrete option for the Nigerian international, and the Belgian club want around €30 million to sell him.
However, West Ham will face fierce competition from Everton for Onyedika, and more suitors could join them in the race after it became clear he has been put up for sale.
The London Stadium club want to bolster their options in the middle of the park this summer as manager Graham Potter looks to hit the ground running next season, and the Brugge star fits the bill.
He featured in 52 games across all competitions last term, weighing in with two goals and two assists. Onyedika tallied four goals and two assists in 49 games in 2023-24.
He has an excellent passing range, and he has what it takes to impress in the Premier League.
The Hammers have signed French defender Jean-Clair Todibo permanently following his loan spell last term, but have to make any other first-team additions this summer.
They finished 14th in the Premier League and will need to make significant improvements to their squad if they want to qualify for Europe.
Celtic youth striker Daniel Cummings will join West Ham in July for around €300,000 in compensation.
Potter will hope he can perform in the first team after he notched 30 goals at youth level last season.
Pipping suitors to Onyedika will be a huge boost, and fans can expect a top player in the Nigerian if a deal works out.
