West Ham United are one of the clubs keen on recruiting the services of Marseille winger Jonathan Rowe this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
West Ham are in dire need of attacking firepower after Mohammed Kudus left the London Stadium club, and Rowe is available.
Marseille have told the 22-year-old Englishman to leave after he was involved in a post-match altercation with Adrien Rabiot last Friday.
The Hammers are now looking to bring the former Norwich City star back to England, but they face competition from Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Bologna.
Rowe, who helped England under-21s win the European Under-21 Championship earlier this summer, could be a huge signing for West Ham.
He is ‘one of the most perfectly two-footed players’, and Hammers manager Graham Potter could do with him in attack.
He ended last term with three goals and three assists in 28 Ligue 1 games after notching 12 goals in 32 Championship games in 2023-24.
While he is primarily a left winger, the West Ham target can feature on the right, with his finishing one of his strong suits.
The Hammers have yet to bring in a replacement for Kudus after selling the Ghana international forward to Tottenham Hotspur, with Callum Wilson their only signing in the final third so far.
However, Potter needs more than the former Newcastle United striker if he wants to keep his job this term, and signing Rowe could be a sensible move.
His side failed to score in their opening Premier League game of the new campaign against Sunderland on Saturday, losing 3-0.
They need to strengthen in both midfield and attack before the summer transfer deadline, and more names could emerge in the coming days.
West Ham fans will not care about all of that if no concrete move is made to bring any player to the club as soon as possible.
There are less than two weeks left in the summer transfer window, and they have very little time left to get deals done before the market closes.
