West Ham United recall Ziu from Bristol City loan | OneFootball

West Ham United have opted to recall midfielder Jess Ziu from her loan spell at Barclays WSL2 club Bristol City.

The Hammers confirmed the news via a post on their official club website yesterday afternoon.

The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international joined The Robins on a season-long loan deal back in August but she returns to parent club West Ham United ahead of schedule.

In her time at Ashton Gate, Ziu made four appearances for Bristol City in Barclays WSL2. She played a small part in the club steadily building a renewed promotion push.

Ziu was sent out on loan to Bristol City in a bid to get some game time off the back of a lengthy lay-off with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. The midfielder will now re-join first team training back at West Ham United, although it is not yet known if she will compete for a place in the team in the second half of the season or face a fresh loan.

West Ham United signed Ziu from SSE Airtricity League Women’s Premier Division club Shelbourne in 2022. The midfielder has huge potential but has faced a difficult start to life in East London due to injuries.
