West Ham United are keen on signing PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi this window, according to the Sun.
West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants to further bolster his attack at the London Stadium, and the Hammers have made a late-window approach for the American striker.
However, they were rejected as Pepi wants to join Fulham instead and is waiting for them to meet PSV’s asking price following two bids.
The Craven Cottage club have offered £29.5 million for the West Ham target, but PSV are holding out for £30.4m.
The 23-year-old Pepi has been involved in 34 goals since last term, with 11 goals and two assists to his name in 22 games this term after ending last season with 18 goals and three assists.
The Hammers added striking duo Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos to their attack earlier this month. West Ham will also be holding on to English striker Callum Wilson despite coming close to terminating his deal.
They have more than enough in their attacking ranks at the moment and will not be losing sleep over Pepi’s decision not to join them.
Nuno has also signed Spanish attacker Adama Traore from Fulham, but Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta is set to leave for Flamengo in the coming days.
West Ham have agreed a £35.5m sale of the wantaway star to Flamengo, but it is unknown whether they have plans to bring in a replacement in his position.
They have been linked with a loan move for out-of-favour Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, while Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is also on their radar.
Besiktas are reportedly in talks to sign their goalkeeper Alphonse Areola and midfielder Tomas Soucek before the end of the winter transfer window next Monday.
However, West Ham are unlikely to sanction their exits right now given how important they have been to Nuno.
