All seven goals come in the first half in eventful London derby clash as Gunners hit five for the second straight game
West Ham vs Arsenal LIVE!
Arsenal’s recent resurgence continued with a thumping win over West Ham in the Premier League. The Gunners made it three consecutive wins and 13 goals in a single week as they brushed aside their London rivals 5-2 on Saturday evening, with all seven goals scored in a chaotic first half. It is the first time that has happened in the top-flight since 2012 and only the fourth time ever in the Premier League era.
Gabriel got the scoring started after just 10 minutes at the London Stadium by heading home from another well-worked Arsenal set-piece that left Julen Lopetegui fuming. Leandro Trossard tapped home to make it 2-0, while Martin Odegaard’s penalty after Lucas Paqueta’s foul on Bukayo Saka piled more misery on West Ham before Kai Havertz netted after Trossard’s fine pass.
Arsenal were absolutely dominant but West Ham then threatened a comeback from 4-0 down, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Emerson both notching before their comeback attempts were halted on the stroke of half-time when Saka’s penalty followed a foul by Lukasz Fabianski on Gabriel, who then went off injured.
