The 28-year-old was a stalwart in Liam Manning’s defence last term, playing every single minute for the Robins last term as they finished in the Championship play-offs for the first time in 17 years.

Vyner is about to enter the final year of his contract at Ashton Gate and may be shaping up for an early exit this window.

The Robins’ academy graduate impressed throughout the 2024/25 campaign and has attracted interest from across the continent.

According to Bristol Live, Belgian outfit K.A.A. Gent are admirers of the defender and could look to make a move for his services this summer.

De Buffalo's finished sixth in the Jupiler Pro League last term and have identified Vyner as an option to shore up their backline this summer.

The 28-year-old attracted interest from the likes of Luton Town, Southampton and Rangers before penning his most recent deal at Ashton Gate but may finally be tempted to exit the Robins.

It would be another unwelcome loss for Bristol City, who lost former boss Manning to fellow Championship side Norwich City earlier in the window.

Vyner has made 234 appearances for City and has been an ever-present in the side over the last five seasons.

Zak Vyner’s exit would be a huge blow for Bristol City

Gerhard Struber already has a tough task on his hands next season as he tries to replicate Manning’s amazing sixth-place finish of the previous campaign.

The Robins’ 6-0 humiliation in the play-offs showed that they are still a fair distance off the level needed to achieve promotion to the Premier League and losing Vyner wouldn’t help their cause one bit.

It’s rare for a player to play such a continuous role in a side’s defence across 46 games and to lose someone of that calibre would be a huge blow for the Robins.

Furthermore, Anis Mehmeti, Mark Sykes, Max O'Leary, Haydon Roberts and Sam Bell are all in the last years of their respective contracts and losing Vyner could be the start of a mass exodus at Ashton Gate.

It would represent a lack of faith in Struber’s ability to achieve similar success to Manning and potentially embody the beginning of an unfortunate decline for Bristol City in 25/26.
