Grace Clinton (Manchester City)
Grace Clinton’s move to Manchester City in September was one of the most controversial of the season.
She moved from city rivals United, with Jess Park going the other way.
But it was a move that’s paid off thus far. Since getting herself to full match fitness Grace Clinton has become part of the City squad from November onwards – with head coach Andree Jeglertz describing her as someone who will be “a key player” for the team.
And City rounded off 2025 with a 5-1 win over West Ham United to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Subway Women’s League Cup.
And Clinton even got herself on the scoresheet – reflecting to the club’s official website afterwards how much she was revelling in the season so far.
“It’s so enjoyable when you play around people with so many different strengths,” she said.
“I know I can pass to feet or behind, but the man thing is we create space for each other.
“Sometimes you might have loads of space to turn and get on the ball or you might create it for them.
“It just really flows and is really enjoyable to play in.”
City go into the break on top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table and will be competing in the Women’s FA Cup as well as the League Cup in January.
Like any footballer, however, Clinton is looking for ways to improve.
“It’s been a very enjoyable season so far but we’re always looking forward and having meetings to prepare for what might come up.
“It seems like a very good mentality in the group at the minute and everyone is wanting to win.”
And with a nod to her success with England in the Euros over the summer, she went on: “It’s been a crazy 2025, a lot of personal growth and learnings for me and success.
“But I’m just hungry for more, to help this City side progress and do the best we can. I’m very excited looking to the future.”
