If, as expected, Manchester City signs Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth at the beginning of the January transfer window, it would not be a surprise to see Oscar Bobb leave the club for more opportunities to play regularly. Bobb has fallen down the pecking order at City this season and if Semenyo does land at the Etihad then Bobb’s chances to play regularly will plummet. A new report indicates that a host of clubs from the Premier League and across Europe have an interest in signing Oscar Bobb. What is the best January move for the young winger should he leave City next month?

A host of clubs are interested in signing Oscar Bobb from Manchester City next month.

John Menzies has reported for CaughtOffside that a host of clubs have an interest in signing Oscar Bobb during next month’s transfer window. Menzies reports that Premier League clubs Fulham and Crystal Palace have an interest in bringing in Oscar Bobb next month. Furthermore, Menzies reports that Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund also have interest in securing Bobb’s services. Menzies reports that each club has tabled a proposal to Manchester City to bring Oscar Bobb into their club. A loan move is likely what City will consider for the young Norwegian international.

What is the best option for Oscar Bobb to get the playing opportunities that he desperately needs?

First of all, I cannot see Manchester City selling Oscar Bobb next month. The young winger still has a big future at City despite seeing his playing opportunities dwindle this season. Unless a club comes in with an offer that is almost too good to be true, it is hard to see City selling Bobb. So a loan move may beckon for the young winger.

Which move would be best for Oscar Bobb? Fulham and Crystal Palace could be the ideal destination for Bobb. He could remain in the Premier League and would likely contend for a starting role in either team. Perhaps that is the path that Bobb will go down. Having said that, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund are also interesting options for Bobb to consider. Playing in La Liga with Sevilla could suit Oscar Bobb’s game, and it may be a move he would consider. He could rediscover his confidence with a good loan spell in Spain. Borussia Dortmund also offer Bobb a good opportunity. They are renowned for developing young players and the opportunity to play in the Champions League would also be on offer. A loan spell in the Bundesliga could be extremely beneficial to Oscar Bobb’s game.

It wouldn’t come as a surprise if Oscar Bobb seeks a move from Manchester City in January. It may well be the ideal move for him so he can play on a regular basis. I can’t see City selling Bobb, as mentioned above, but a loan move to the Premier League, Bundesliga or La Liga is an appealing notion for the young winger. Wherever Bobb goes in January, if he does leave City, he must be playing regular first-team minutes. So whichever club can offer him that opportunity will be the best move for Oscar Bobb.
