Foxes supporters were far from impressed with their side's showing on Saturday.

Leicester City supporters were left further frustrated after Foxes boss Marti Cifuentes gave his assessment on his team's 2-0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers at the King Power Stadium.

Marti Cifuentes' side hoped to use Saturday's lunchtime clash against Valerien Ismael's outfit as a chance to bounce back from successive away defeats against Hull City and Millwall.

However, they would be left empty-handed for a third successive Championship encounter.

A brace from Icelandic international forward and Blackburn's summer signing, Andri Gudjohnsen, proved Leicester's undoing as he sweeped home two rather impressive finishes from inside the box either side of the half-time interval.

The Foxes succumbed to a first defeat on home turf since the Spaniard's appointment in June, having previously taken nine of their 17 points thus far at the King Power through two wins and three draws.

However, with the latter of those maximum point hauls coming against Birmingham City back on August 30th, the masses in the East Midlands have been left far from convinced that the former Queens Park Rangers boss is the man who can turn the tide, as the rot, started by a tumultuous three-year period beforehand, is starting to worsen even more.

The loyalty which Leicester supporters have been known for showing has remained evident throughout the opening three months of the season, with the Midlands side still topping the average attendance charts.

That is, despite the fact many continue to express their discontent towards board members, most notably, director of football, Jon Rudkin.

At the beginning of the season, though, Cifuentes had allowed for some respite on this particular front as his side were firmly among the pace-setters. But, after a run of just one win in nine, the Foxes are now 11 points and 13 places behind league leaders and bitter rivals, Coventry City.

And, after two below-par away performances - albeit against two in-form Hull and Millwall sides - fan frustration has now come the way of the 43-year-old.

In his post-match assessment with club media, Cifuentes is aware that performance levels have dropped below the standard required to mount a sustained promotion bid, stating: "There is more in these players - I expect them to deliver more.

"I think that there is more quality in them than what we are showing at the moment," he added.

"We need to make sure that things change and that we start to put performances according to the level that the Club deserves.

"We need to change things quickly because there is another game on Tuesday and we need to react strong after the big disappointment today," he concluded.

Unsurprisingly, Cifuentes' reaction was met by many disgruntled supporters, including one who refused to take note of his comments.

Another Foxes fan was of the same opinion, believing that the club should make another managerial change in the process.

One supporter listed a plethora of reasons which they believe are the root cause of such a poor run of form and performances, which includes a lack of young blood in the Foxes' lineup.

Another Fox made a rather sharp assessment of the many reasons which have caused such a drastic plight, stating all they want is the club's identity to be restored.

Amid all the frustration, there was one supporter who believes that Cifuentes isn't a million miles away, albeit there are factors within the club and his coaching which don't seem to help his cause.

Marti Cifuentes needs a swift Leicester City reaction vs Middlesbrough

Just a few short weeks ago, Leicester supporters would have viewed the upcoming clash with Middlesbrough as a chance to lay a marker down in the early-season promotion picture.

However, it is now a critical fixture for other reasons, with Cifuentes needing to see a reaction in order to avoid a winless run extending to four games and a run of just one win in 10 overall.

Saturday's game vs Blackburn once again epitomised the shortcomings which have been evident in recent weeks, with Leicester creating several chances, whilst only one of those troubled Balazs Toth.

Only one of the Blues' 15 goals have been scored by a recognised centre-forward, which is the biggest concern amongst supporters, especially when looking at the calibre of those in the form of Jordan Ayew, Patson Daka and Julian Carranza.

Failure to achieve a positive result against second-place Boro will only intensify the pressure on Cifuentes' shoulders, although three points could help reignite Leicester's season in a wide-open division.
