Blues are reportedly considering a move for the England Under-21s boss this summer
Birmingham City's season has well and truly fizzled out in recent weeks, and therefore, the pressure surrounding Chris Davies' position as manager at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park has resurfaced.
Given the financial resources at Blues' disposal under the ownership of Tom Wagner, many pre-season predictions ahead of the Championship campaign had the West Midlands outfit, at the very worst, competing for a place in the play-offs.
Birmingham had romped to the League One title in record-breaking fashion in Davies' first season at the club and in full-time management as a whole, but the 41-year-old has been the subject of sack reports and calls across varying points of the current season.
Despite receiving continued support in interviews from Wagner and in both transfer windows to reshuffle his squad with depth and quality across all areas, Blues have regressed over the crucial spring period and are set to finish in mid-table, without barely challenging for a top six place all campaign long.
There were signs that the club's current predicament could have been very different through an impressive unbeaten run in January and February, before a 3-0 defeat to Millwall on February 25th started a recent downturn in results and performance levels.
And, it now appears as though Knighthead may be considering a change in the dugout, and it is one which could bring about mixed responses from Bluenoses.

It has been claimed by Football Insider that one man who has emerged as a 'top contender' for the managerial role in B9 is Lee Carsley, who previously played for and coached at his hometown club.
The 52-year-old is currently in his well-documented role with the England Under-21s squad, having previously won back-to-back UEFA European Championships, as well as being an interim for the senior squad between the departure of Sir Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel's appointment.
Carsley was also an interim boss at St. Andrew's in 2017 following the dismissal of Harry Redknapp and the appointment of Steve Cotterill, before he departed as assistant to the latter when he was sacked in March 2018.
However, it is understood that the man who won promotion as a player from the Championship 17 years ago with Blues is willing to accept the offer, should it come, as he is a close ally to director of football, Craig Gardner, who, like Davies, is said to be under pressure at this moment in time.
As such, Football League World asked ChatGPT to predict how Carsley would fare next season if appointed...

There is currently a possibility that Birmingham could finish as the lowest-ranked newly-promoted side this season behind Wrexham and Charlton Athletic - a situation no one forecast eight months ago.
However, if Carsley was to replace Davies in the dugout, AI predicts that Blues would be in for a better season in terms of their league position, although it still may not be deemed good enough by Knighthead when taking into account their resources and ambition.
It has been claimed that he would add technically-gifted players to the squad, but that may not translate to immediately strong performances, subsequently putting heat on his own shoulders.
AI also claims that the strength of next season's Championship, especially with the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers being relegated, limits the club's chances of finishing in the top five or six.
However, with the computer predicting a finish of eighth to tenth, the former of those would see Birmingham participate in the play-offs for the first time in 15 years.
The newly-formatted play-off process, which comes into effect in 2026/27, would see them face off against whichever side comes fifth in a one-off eliminator to decide if they were to progress into the usual two-legged semi-finals and, potentially, the final at Wembley Stadium.
