TalkSport’s top transfer man Alex Crook is claiming that Chelsea are still interested in signing Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa even though Arsenal and Man U have also now joined the chase.

He says that Villa value him at £80m, and a bidding war between top teams could easily drive that price up north of £100m. The 23 year old would also consider a move abroad.

Interest in Rogers made a lot of sense a year ago, but now? We’re not so sure. He’s at a team who will be playing in the Champions League, and just won the Europa League. In addition, Aston Villa look better set up to win trophies next season than Chelsea.

Can we see him pushing for a move away to join Arsenal or Man U? Yes. To join Chelsea? Not so much. And that’s before you get to the issue of his massive price tag, which is sure to put lots of people off.
