Arsenal will have 16 players taking to the pitch for their respective countries at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which gets underway in the United States, Mexico and Canada next week.
After an impressive season that saw Mikel Arteta’s side win the Premier League and reach the UEFA Champions League final, it’s perhaps no surprise that Arsenal will be represented so heavily at this summer’s tournament.
Thomas Tuchel has been tasked with guiding the Three Lions to major silverware for the first time since 1966 – and he’s called upon four Arsenal players for help.
Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka are both heading to their fourth international tournament with England’s senior side, with the latter having scored three goals as Gareth Southgate’s men reached the quarter-finals four years ago.
Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke will be looking to make an impact in their first senior World Cup, having both impressed throughout England’s qualifying campaign.
La Roja are the reigning European champions, and they’ll be looking to get their hands on the World Cup trophy again this summer.
Luis de la Fuente has called on David Raya, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Raya was an unused squad member in Qatar four years ago and will be vying to prove that he is Spain’s most dependable goalkeeper, while it’ll be a first World Cup for both Zubimendi and Merino.
Merino knows how to pop up with crucial goals for the national team, having headed home in the 119th minute of Spain’s UEFA Euro 2024 quarter-final against hosts Germany.
Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhães are both included in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The defender’s international debut came almost three years ago in Brazil’s first qualifying match for this summer’s tournament, and he’s become a mainstay of the Seleção’s defence ever since.
This will be a second World Cup tournament for Martinelli, though, who made three appearances for Brazil in Qatar four years ago.
Brazil face Morocco, Haiti and Scotland in Group C.
Leandro Trossard makes it into Belgium’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as the Red Devils look to make amends for their early exit in Qatar four years ago.
He was a member of the squad back then, playing in all three of Belgium’s fixtures as they bowed out in the group stage.
Trossard scored once in Belgium’s qualifying campaign for this summer’s tournament, featuring in nine of their 10 matches.
Belgium will face Egypt, Iran and New Zealand as they look to progress from Group G at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ecuador will be hoping for more stellar performances from Piero Hincapié at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
They’ve only made it out of the group stage once before at a World Cup tournament, but an impressive qualifying campaign saw them lose just two of their 18 games. Those defeats came against Brazil and Argentina.
This will be the defender’s second FIFA World Cup, having played in each of Ecuador’s group stage games four years ago.
This time around, he’ll be hoping they can get the better of the Ivory Coast, Curaçao and Germany to progress from Group E.
William Saliba played just 19 minutes for Les Bleus in Qatar four years ago, but he’ll be hoping he can have more of an impact for France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The defender has become something of a mainstay in Didier Deschamps’ defence in recent years, and while there were concerns that a back injury may have limited his playing time in North America this summer, the France boss affirmed on Wednesday that the Arsenal star “is fine and will be managed.”
Germany bowed out in the group stages in Qatar four years ago, but with Kai Havertz fit and firing once again, they’ll be hoping to go deeper into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Arsenal man missed out on the entirety of Die Mannschaft’s qualifying campaign but scored a penalty in a March friendly against Ghana.
Jurriën Timber will be looking to guide the Netherlands deep into the 2026 FIFA World Cup after being knocked out in the quarter-finals four years ago.
The defender was battling with injury issues in the latter stages of the 2025/26 club season and head coach Ronald Koeman admitted that “it does not look rosy” for the Arsenal man to return to full fitness in time for the World Cup.
But the 24-year-old featured in the Gunners’ UEFA Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain and will now be turning his attention to Group F, where the Netherlands will take on Sweden, Japan and Tunisia.
Martin Ødegaard will captain Norway at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after qualifying for their first major tournament since UEFA Euro 2000.
The 27-year-old featured in Norway’s first five qualifying fixtures for this summer’s tournament before injury ruled him out of the remainder of the campaign.
He debuted for the national team at just 15 years old and will be looking to match – or better – Norway’s best-ever tournament finish, which saw them reach the round-of-16 at the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
Viktok Gyökeres will be hoping to lead the line for Graham Potter’s Sweden at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After scoring four goals in the Nations League play-offs to book the Blågult’s place in North America, the Arsenal forward will be competing with Liverpool’s Alexander Isak for the starting spot.
Sweden take on Tunisia, the Netherlands and Japan in Group F at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
